Hi my name is Subhakar. Few days back a started doing insta story vlog for 30 days.
The below you gonna find what I learned from these stories
1. Camera matters a little.
I shoot all my stories on moto C Plus. Which have 8mp camera which is not so decent from today's point of view. But still it work well but sucks in low light. I suggest you to shoot in good light
2. Lighting is key
If you shooting video for lighting is important so it looks great on instagram
3 shooting in 9:16 format
Instagram Stories are made in portrait mode so you don't have to flip your phone to see new stories
While shooting in 9:16 format I learned that you can do more creative trick and transition in this format with your hands
4 editing
i used 3 apps
inshot , you cut editor and video splitter (to split your video in 15 seconds clip) and also export your video in highest quality available because instagram does lower the quality ( just personal observation but not fully sure about it)
5 music
music in your video keeps the viewer engaging. I use the non copyright music in all my vlog except the cinematic vlog (which is still on my instagram highlight) probably my best insta story so far. And yes I shoot it on a dslr nikon d5300 kit lens. Be sure to give credit to artist whose music you use
6 it's not for money
insta story vlogging is not about. It's more about creating something that stands out from rest of the profile. Well if you reach certain amount of followers (10,000 followers is a benchmark) you comes into a category of social media influencer. At the this point of writing the article. You can make good amount of money out of it
7 content is king (story is king)
well your content matters. Try to keep it creating and interesting.
For example : if you work in restaurant and you are a chef. You can show your your work like making of cuisine
If you are a office employee and travels long distance, you can show journey like what you eat, where you travel etc.

Last but not least, after reading all these things, you might thinking should you do or not. Well my answer is simple at least give it a shot. You never know you might become instagram Casiey neistat.
